A patient was extremely anxious about being in the hospital and what she was going to have to endure. Kim found out about the patient's love of animals and her desire to be a farmer with horses when she grows up. Kim engaged her in conversation about her love of animals and her farm with horses. She created a collage with pictures of her animals for the patient. This brightened her day and was a great distraction when she was nervous. We appreciated Kim's calm presence and ease in helping her through a difficult experience.
