July 2021 Honoree
Kim Wenger, RN
I recently found the enclosed DAISY nomination form in my storage container of ‘Get Well” cards I received while a patient at BWH. It was written 2yrs ago after I was a patient for 3wks recovering from cancer preventative surgery of the rectum. I still think fondly of one nurse whose caring concern made an immense difference in my recovery – both physically and emotionally. I’m sure it’s rare to receive a nomination so long after a patient’s stay. I hope you are able to contact Kim, letting her know that my husband and I still share with others what a blessing she was to us. I am very interested in receiving contact information about a mission project she and her daughters joined multiple times to an impoverished area in the Appalachians. I had to retire from teaching 2nd grade because of my medical condition after surgery. Instead of selling my books and supplies, I want to donate them to the mission project Kim participated in.
Thank you, Kim, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
