My son was admitted to the Rapid City Regional Hospital emergency room recently. I’m writing this note to let people know about people that give your hospital a good name.

The nurse is Kim Weyer. Kim was with our son from the time he was intubated to when he was life-flighted to another facility. Her shift ended well before this time, but she made the decision to stay on until he left. She stated, and I will never forget this comment, “I’m staying with him because if he was my son I wouldn’t want another nurse coming in at a critical time to take over care.” This was very reassuring for me and my wife – it certainly made us feel like she was going to give our son 100 percent of herself as well as the knowledge she really cared about the patient she was tending, our son.
Please give her kudos – Kim is certainly deserving.
