An example of Kim's greatness was a recent weekend when Kim was charge. We were 4 staff short, a nurse, a CNA, a secretary and a sitter with a unit full of patients. Kim remained calm and very helpful. Kim was even assigned her own patients. She helped the CNA with vital signs, turning and bathing patients, rounded with doctors.
Kim was available to start a difficult IV needed so a patient could get a CT scan. Kim's strength is understanding how difficult it is to work short-handed. She continued to remain calm and it made us calm. Kim even came up and asked how we were doing and what she could help with. Kim's superior leadership shined that day. Patients and staff survived a difficult day, feeling successful thanks to her.
