Kimber was literally the embodiment of "no problem; everything is going to be smooth and great."
It is no secret that the staff here is great, from top to bottom and side to side. This is a top-notch pediatric specialty hospital. But my child is challenging. He has emotional conditions that cannot be adequately medicated, and severe anxiety, specifically related to needles and medical procedures. Needless to say, we were coming in hot with sour attitudes, 20 impossible fights already, miscommunication about valet and parking, and we were half an hour late.
I was crying by 7:30 AM. Kimber was literally the embodiment of "no problem; everything is going to be smooth and great." Then there was a problem with coordinating care for all the things we wanted done while he was unconscious. Social services would not answer the phone; he is technically in foster care and needs permission for anesthesia. Once again, “no problem”. She just rolled with it. When the labs arrived, it was not ideal. Nevertheless, she and her team came together and did the things. Kimber kept him calm and cooperative. The whole time, good manners were not on my child's agenda. She never was crabby about it or held it against me.
These sorts of things are particularly awful for me, as they are humiliating on top of the challenge of actually getting them done. Thank you for being so kind to me and to my child, even when he was not kind in return.
