Kimberlee was nominated due to her enormous compassion toward a patient's wife. Her patient had driven himself and his wife to the ED because his wife doesn't drive. The patient was then transferred from our facility to another hospital leaving the wife in our ED with no way home or to be with her husband. Kim called an Uber lady who works 35 miles from our facility and paid a lot of money to have her patient's wife driven to where her husband was at. The family was going to be able to meet her there to help get her back home. Living in a rural area we come across situations like this but have never had a family member stranded at our facility. Kim's compassionate heart didn't think twice about her decision to reach into her own pockets to make sure her patient's wife was taken care of.
