Kimberly A Draayer, LPN

Kim has a special interest in working with patients with substance abuse. She goes above and beyond to help them. I was evaluating a patient with opioid dependence and tapering medications. The patient had complicated withdrawal symptoms and though I was prescribing medications to help him, he needed additional support. I offered our rehab program but the patient was not willing to go through it as it was inpatient.

I was discussing this with our nurse Kim as I was worried about the patient. Kim took the time to find other options for patient (without any prompting from my side) and got him connected to outpatient rehab. Her exceptional care and empathy for the patient deserves special mention and applause, this is one of the multiple situations where her exceptional care led to positive outcomes.
