Kimberly displayed excellent teamwork on a challenging day. Kim started the day with a full patient assignment in addition to fulfilling her charge nurse role on 2 west. Early in the am, during morning assessments and med passes, she quickly responded to a Code Blue called from Pre-Op. Immediately, she volunteered and efficiently completed the role of documenting during the code. The Code Blue then developed into a Code Stroke. Unfortunately, a Rapid Response was called on the Behavior Health unit at the same time. The clinical RN was unable to respond and Kim, a true team player, responded to the RRT. Kim evaluated the patient, communicated with the admitting MD, and transferred the patient to ICU. Obviously, her ability to transition within the multiple roles presented to her was absolutely outstanding!!! Her display of teamwork and dedication to her fellow Mercy employees and above all the multiple patients to whom she delivered excellent patient care, Kim deserves to be commended and celebrated!!
