Kimberly is truly amazing and exemplifies "The Best of the Best". Our brother K was in extreme critical condition with he arrived at Hamot via Life Flight helicopter. From the onset, Kimberly consistently demonstrated her nursing and medical skills night after night during 12-hour shifts. Her knowledge was the first attribute that came shining through as conditions fluctuated and worsened. She remained calm and did her job masterfully.
Kimberly diligently looked after K with lightning speed while performing many tasks to keep him alive. Kimberly stayed composed and performed her duties at a very high level to execute the necessary procedures to stabilize K's condition. Her expertise and efficiencies were absolutely remarkable. She was extremely patient with us as we asked questions. She explained things to help us understand what was going on as she helped K. Kimberly showed poise and compassion to K and our family. She multi-tasked all night long buzzing around organizing, checking on K, asking us if we needed anything. The energy she demonstrated night after night with a beautiful attitude and comforting smile kept our frazzled emotions at a minimum. Kimberly enabled us to feel confident when we took a break to go home, knowing he was in the best of care. Kimberly did all the above while tending to the needs of several other patients, all of whom must have shared the same appreciation of her as we do. We were truly blessed to have Kimberly as K's nurse and she treated him like her own brother and us like family. We are grateful and appreciate Kimberly. We feel that Kimberly is extremely worthy of the DAISY Award.
