I have witnessed Kim’s genuine compassion for others on many occasions. One such occasion happened today when we had a patient who had just transitioned to hospice care. He had not been eating much but asked for a cheeseburger. The cafeteria was closed, and the patient had no family who lived nearby. Kim was coming to the end of her shift and as soon as she left, she was back with a cheeseburger for him. The patient was so grateful to her for her thoughtfulness. He couldn’t believe that someone would do that for him. Kim truly displays the meaning of Mother Standard® of care and all that CTCA stands for. Kim really made this patient’s day and he managed to eat it all.
