I would like to recognize Kim because she exemplifies everything you hope for in a nurse: intelligence, compassion, leadership, and the rare ability to make you smile even in the hardest moments.
During my dad’s time in the SICU, Kim was not only the Charge Nurse, but also our assigned nurse. She managed to do both roles flawlessly. She explains everything clearly and patiently, making sure that we understand each step of care. Her knowledge and confidence were immediately reassuring, and we always felt like we were in excellent hands.
What made her even more special was the way she brought kindness and humor into the room in a place as heavy and intense as the SICU. Her ability to make us laugh even briefly was a gift.
