Kim took the extra step and go to the wife's home to make sure the patient could speak to his wife before he deteriorated to a condition where he was unable to speak.
Kim was caring for a COVID positive patient who was not doing well. She set-up face time with the patient's daughter to help get the patient's affairs in order. When Kim found out the patient's wife did not have a phone to support face time, she made arrangements to drive to the patient's house and set-up a zoom call with the patient's wife. Kim did this on her own time after work. Kim made sure the patient's wife had proper PPE during their visit. This allowed Kim to take the extra step and go to the wife's home to make sure the patient could speak to his wife before he deteriorated to a condition where he was unable to speak. This all took place on a Thursday evening and the patient passed away on Saturday. Kim made it possible for the wife to say her final goodbyes and make final preparations with her husband. Great job Kim! Going above and beyond!
