"I do not doubt that Mom would not have progressed as quickly were it not for Kim's dedication to doing not what was easy and quick but what was in the best interest of her patient."
Kim is an exceptional Nurse who truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond the call of duty. My 85-year-old mother fell and broke her hip and had a hip replacement. Kim was the nurse on her floor who cared for her most days she was hospitalized. She was attentive, despite a heavy caseload. She always followed through with what she said she would do. She was kind, funny, and friendly to my mom and our family.
My mother gets nauseous very easily and this has stood in the way of her progress with previous surgeries. While kind and compassionate, Kim was direct and assertive enough to coach my mother to push through the nausea and complete the task of walking. Kim's job would have been easier, and she could have had a good excuse just to put Mom back to bed and go about her duties. She did not, she took the extra time to wait out Mom, encourage her, and put just the right amount of pressure to get her moving.
I do not doubt that Mom would not have progressed as quickly were it not for Kim's dedication to doing not what was easy and quick but what was in the best interest of her patient. We are so grateful to have had Kim as a Nurse.
