Kim spoke in a calm tone and understood how I was feeling as my world seemed to be turned upside down within an hour of having major surgery.
I was scheduled for a C-Section. Being a first-time mom, this was a little scary for me. Kim introduced herself right away and explained the process of the surgery and what to expect. She made sure all my questions were answered as well. My husband was present during the surgery and Kim also made sure to inform him what to expect as he couldn’t enter the OR until I was prepped.

While in the OR, Kim continued to be a support person. She continued to ask how I was doing and kept reassuring me that I was doing great. While anesthesia was being administered, she offered her hand to squeeze if needed. Kim informed me of things that were going to happen which calmed my nerves and made the whole surgery a calmer environment.

While in recovery my baby had to ultimately be transferred to the NICU. Kim spoke in a calm tone and understood how I was feeling as my world seemed to be turned upside down within an hour of having major surgery. Communication was on point during the whole process and anytime she was in the room she made sure anything I needed was taken care of.

While completing her duties she made sure to complete them in the most comfortable way possible. The way Kim carried herself was beyond professional. She completed her job and I could tell that she cared about what she was doing and she cares for her patients because that is how she made me feel.

At the end of her shift, she made sure to stop in the room and let me know along with letting me know that she would be back in the morning. The next morning she came in and greeted me and asked how the rest of the night went. She helped me through the whole process of getting discharged and made sure I was well-prepared for discharge. I couldn’t say thank you enough. She is a prime example of how you should care for your patients. She is definitely an asset to the OB Department.
