I went into the infusion center for an iron infusion, which I have had before. Right before my infusion was complete, I started having stiffness in my hands. Kimberly wasn’t even my nurse, but came over and found hives on my arms and legs that I hadn’t noticed. She took control and immediately gave me Benadryl.

She was so sweet and calming. She double checked every medication before she gave it and even caught a potential medication error with the Benadryl another nurse had pulled up. (I do not blame that other nurse; that is why I am so happy to see them doing their witnessed checks!)

Kimberly kept me calm when I was nervous. My throat started to feel tight, and I got chest pain. She stayed with me and gave me more medication and never left my side. My blood pressure was 70/40 due to the medications, and she started me on fluids and was in constant communication with me about what was going on and what the doctor was saying.

I’m a nurse at another hospital and truly don’t know what would have happened if she hadn’t intervened. I didn’t even realize what was happening. I know that Thursdays are busy days, but Kimberly made time to assist my nurse and stayed with me. The whole team was amazing, but Kimberly really stands out every time I am there. This was icing on the cake. Kimberly is a true example of service to others with a compassionate therapeutic technique. Thank you, Kimberly for making this anxious nurse calm in a stressful situation.

Thank you, Kimberly, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
