I nominate Kim Ramsey from the Comprehensive Recovery Services Unit for a DAISY Award. Kim always puts patient care before everything else. I have seen her act selflessly on many occasions over all the years I have had the privilege of working with her, putting her own needs aside while helping patients on the unit meet their needs. She has always treated patients with dignity and respect and offers them the care and attention they need no matter how busy she might be. She helps foster a safe and excellent quality of life on the unit. In the years that I have worked with Kim, she always takes the time to address patients, their families, and others caring for them, so they receive the emotional support and empathy they deserve. She is highly professional, courteous, and respectful at all moments of the day.
Kim goes above and beyond to help care for patients and to help her co-workers as well. She can often be found helping other staff members on a moment's notice and helping educate staff about things happening on the unit, with patients, or the needs of others. She helps connect patients to the resources they need for better care and helps connect the staff to resources so they can better understand and care for patient's needs. I have seen her advocate for patients on their behalf, all of the time, in efforts to make sure they are receiving the best care possible while still getting the respect they deserve while under our care. She helps brainstorm positive and effective solutions to unit problems or concerns and has always been an exemplary role model to everyone around her.
Kim is an extraordinary nurse who works tirelessly for the patients, as well as her co-workers. She has always been there to lend a helping hand or help educate others with her extensive background of experience in the field. She is trustworthy, responsible, and a true leader among our unit and deserves recognition for her continues hard work, dedication, and accomplishments.
