March 28th, 2000 was a very important day for Beaumont, because this is the day Kim Rawley was hired on 2 East CV ICU. Since this day, Kim has contributed countless hours of extraordinary bedside nursing care to both her patients and their families. Kim is a very kindhearted, dedicated nurse who shows empathy to her patients and families during their most difficult days. Kim takes the time to talk with the patients and their families to better understand them and their needs. She uses personal stories of her kids and family to engage with the patients and the staff. She is able to critically think through the ever-changing situations that occur in the ICU and sets patients and staff members at ease. Kim is a role model and a preceptor to many of our staff. She uses her humor to impart knowledge and insight to caring for critically ill patients. As the DAISY Award foundation would say: Kim your ordinary is extraordinary.
