During our stay in the ICU at Mayo Clinic, Nurse Kim made an impact on our family that we will never forget. From the very beginning, she was incredibly proactive with my husband’s care and treated him with genuine compassion, dignity, and attentiveness. What stood out to me most was how much she truly listened. During a time when my husband was struggling to fully relay things on his own, she made me feel heard, validated, and included as part of his care team in every appropriate way possible. She allowed me to help care for him as much as I safely could, and that meant more to me than I can explain. In one of the scariest and most emotional moments of our lives, she brought comfort, calm, and reassurance in a way that felt deeply personal and sincere.
We have unfortunately had many hospital visits over the years and encountered many nurses, but there is something truly special about Nurse Kim. The level of compassion, professionalism, and humanity she showed was unlike anything we’ve experienced before. She is exactly the kind of nurse families hope for when someone they love is critically ill, and we will always remember the care she gave to both of us.
