Almost a week ago I broke my leg very badly and had to have a rod and screws put in it. I have never experienced pain this bad before. Aside from needing and wanting to go home to my kids, being in a situation where I can't do anything for myself like go to the bathroom or even change positions in bed or put a sock on. Kim would help me with all of this. For some reason I was never embarrassed to have Kim help me as I was with some other hospital staff. But what sets Kim apart from all the other nurses is how truly nice she is. She really means it. She also never gets upset and always keeps her cool even though there has been a time of two that I was screaming in her face while she was trying to help me because I was in so much pain. She stayed focused and did not take my screaming personally.
Kim also takes the time to make sure I have everything that I need and that I'm comfortable before she leaves the room. I truly feel that she has been the backbone of my recovery here at Newton Hospital, and without her hard work ethic, and truly caring and encouraging nature, I would not have been able to get where I'm at in my recovery so quickly without Kim. She really is a special person!
