Kim personally escorted us to the NICU, offering comforting words and trying to help us keep a positive outlook on the situation.
Kim Wenson was our nurse in labor/recovery following the birth of our daughter. After an emotionally draining induction process and difficult delivery, we were looking forward to going home and settling in. A few hours before we were scheduled to be discharged, we were told that our daughter would not be going home as expected and was admitted to the NICU to monitor a possible gastrointestinal blockage.
We were devastated and scared. Kim personally escorted us to the NICU, offering comforting words and trying to help us keep a positive outlook on the situation. She was genuinely concerned about our well-being and the well-being of our daughter in this unexpected situation. This nurse truly went the extra mile to try to reduce the stress of our situation in any way that she could. We are so grateful to have had such amazing nurses throughout our stay at Saint Peter’s. This nurse’s special attention to our needs during the most trying moments of our stay made a huge impact on how we were able to handle those first hours in the NICU and helped shape our outlook to one of positivity that carried us through our stay at Saint Peter’s.
