Kimmie was working charge nurse when an incident occurred with a patient. The patient was verbally and physically aggressive towards staff. Kimmie de-escalated this situation with the patient. She provided support and resources to her team members. She also met with the patient to try to understand the underlying issue and created a plan of care going forward. This plan kept team members safe and also assured the patient received care. She was versatile and an advocate for both parties.
