This story has stuck with me for some time. I was working in the ED when a family member came in and wanted to thank a special nurse for the care she had provided to the child during the night. The mother explained that her child had a high fever and was treated. Upon discharge, they were instructed to continue treating the fever with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. They explained to the nurse that they could not afford the Tylenol and Ibuprofen. That morning, the mother reported that at their front door was a bag with Ibuprofen and Tylenol. She wanted to express how thankful she was for the kind and caring nurse who cared for their child.
