Kira Flynn, BSN, RN

From the moment Kira started her shift, she was moving. She worked tirelessly to advocate for a family whose concerns were not being heard by the team. She listened with patience and repeatedly went to their MD with updates and changes. She escalated appropriately when she should not have had to work so hard to get the testing, that both she and the family knew the patient needed. Without Kira’s dedication and nonstop advocating, this story would have had a terrible outcome; without her, a family’s life may have been horribly changed. Kira shouldn’t have had to work so hard to get a simple head CT, but she did, and that family is incredibly grateful she did, and I am, as well. The care and compassion she provided to them was phenomenal and life-changing, and I am lucky to call her my coworker.
