My sister was admitted to WRMC through the ER. She is Diabetic Type 1 and very, very sick! She vomited consistently for 40 hours straight and went into DKA shortly after being admitted. It was heart-wrenching to see my sister so sick and we were very scared that she was going to die.
Kiran was her first ICU nurse and the knowledge, confidence, determination, and skills displayed by her were beyond impeccable! Her introduction to my sister and our family was exactly what we needed in such a disparaging time. For the first time I/we and my sister felt calm and at ease in knowing that she was in the most capable, confident, caring, compassionate, and the best hands! Kiran immediately went to work setting up my sister in ICU and at the same time reassuringly explaining to us exactly what she was doing and why and what to expect.
Kiran was truly an angel of mercy, displaying extraordinary confidence, skill, kindness, caring, compassion, medical services, and setting our fearful and frazzled minds and hearts at ease. She was a comfort with her jovial spirit and a very professional skill set that is not displayed and demonstrated by just anyone. Very few possess this special kind of character that combines knowledge, skill, and compassion in a way that promotes healing within the patient, per this extraordinary, almost magical display of character, skill, confidence, and compassion.
Kiran is the epitome of what nurses can be and should be! Thank you, Kiran - you saved all of us!
Note: This is Kirandeep's 2nd DAISY Award!
