I have been working in the healthcare system for some time now and long enough to know when I see someone who stands out among the rest. I am a new fellow RN and Kirianne Green has been my preceptor. Let me tell you, this is one extraordinary nurse!
Kirianne starts every day with enthusiasm to keep her patients healthy, safe, and comfortable. She closely follows evidence-based practices. She makes sure to review all hospital protocols and procedures prior to any nursing intervention. She is patient, kind, and takes extra time with patients, families, and staff members. She is often found running around answering call lights for other co-workers. She is not afraid to advocate for her patients even if it means being put in an uncomfortable situation.
I've witnessed someone be out of line with Kirianne and she was nothing but polite and matter of fact to the individual. She is always treating everyone with the same dignity and respect. She is constantly updating the physicians, staff, and family face-to-face to keep everyone informed. Every single person that interacts with her is very grateful for her care both patient and employee. She makes sure everyone else around her is well taken care of first. I find her as someone that goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is a nurse leader and example of what we all strive to be. I would be rest assured knowing that she would be my nurse. Like any true leader, she is humble to acknowledge these attributes so I certainly will!
