My husband came into the ED with a badly severed and broken finger. He was in severe pain and was having a panic attack. He was very afraid of losing his finger. We saw such compassion and kindness from Kirk. He was what you would hope to see from a nurse working in the ED. He was competent, skilled, kind, and very personable. He tried to distract my husband to get his mind off the pain while he was getting stitched up. He helped him calm down when he was hyperventilating and reassured him that he would be ok. I am sure our experience there with Kirk was just a small example of what Kirk does every time he works. He connects with his patients, and he makes people feel safe, seen, and heard. He reassures the family members as well as the patient. He made sure we had everything we needed. He even sent us home with plenty of extra supplies to change out my husband’s dressing.

I was just so impressed by him. He benefits Alta View greatly by working in the ED. He makes a difference in what he does. I just want him to know that his efforts, kindness, patience, and hard work are noticed and appreciated beyond measure. He made us feel like we were the only patients there that day. We felt like we were in the best hands. I can’t thank him enough! Thank you so much Kirk!
