After 5 weeks of ICU treatments for our son JC we have seen many extraordinary nurses. Kirsten was the best of the best. Her nursing skills are so good that she brings the family into the process appropriately. When JC was "up from heavy sedation" for a few minutes our daughter was having a series of tender exchanges with him - Kirsten made the exchange her priority - going so far as giving her warm damp washcloths and suggesting she wipe his face with one and eyes with the second. He expressed his pleasure. I was equally impressed by the ease with which Kirsten established rapport with the family; the degree of respect she enjoys with her peer; and the poise and grace she exceeds in every action and decision. She makes it a joy to be around her.

Another story: I watched Kirsten launch from her computer like a rocket to assist Jill in the next room as the patient began tearing the lines from his body to "get out of here". While I know almost none of the details but it made my heart jump with pride to see her response.
