December 2024 Honoree
Kirsten Mamocod, BSN, RN CBC
Kirsten exemplified what nursing is during my stay for the delivery of my son. She was originally assigned to be the baby nurse once he was delivered. She quickly stepped in and assisted with my labor. The baby flipped over during contractions, and Kirsten was right there working her magic, trying to get him to flip back over to ease the delivery process.
She worked tirelessly and was committed to helping me stick to my birth plan. I truly feel I would have ended up having a C-section if it weren't for her. My epidural only partially worked, and I was having horrible back labor. Kirsten was again there, massaging my back to help with the discomfort. I had the outcome I had hoped for, and I am forever grateful for her.
She had constant words of encouragement throughout the entire process. The best part of this story is that my sister and I worked with Kirsten 15 years ago at another hospital, so being reunited with her for this experience was extra special.

Thank you, Kirsten, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
