Kirsten emulates everything within the profession of registered nursing. As a nursing professor and program director for an associate degree program, I was honored to have Kirsten as my nurse. Her nursing practice was textbook, and her demeanor encompassed the soul of nursing, which is care. She performed her assessments, provided patient teaching, ensured my pain medication was given as scheduled (never late, she must have set an alarm), explained each procedure she was doing and provided outstanding SBAR reporting to the oncoming nurse. I will be using this experience in my upcoming lectures. Many times, as nurses, we become complacent in our patient care. Your facility should be very proud of the fact that you have an employee like Kirsten. She is a true representation of excellent clinical skills, compassion, and care.
