The care she consistently provides goes far beyond tasks and clinical responsibilities. It is compassionate, unforgettable, and leaves a lasting impact on children, families, and colleagues alike.
In moments when patients and families are frightened, overwhelmed, or exhausted, Kirsten is a calm, reassuring presence. She makes time to listen, to explain, and to comfort, even on the busiest of shifts.
During a patient deterioration, I saw her educate parents about the situation at hand while continuing to expertly manage the deterioration. Although this was an extremely intense situation, Kirsten continued to provide comfort to the parents, and the difference it made to their overall experience was profound. Anxiety eased, trust was built, and the family felt safe knowing she was there.
What truly sets Kirsten apart is that her compassion is matched by exceptional expertise. She delivers care with confidence, skill, and attention to detail while never losing sight of the person behind the patient.
