Kirsten came in to greet us after a long night in the ER. She would take time to explain what was going on with my dad. She explained how the medications were working to help his problem. She kept us informed both days. On the day of discharge, she made sure everything was lined up. She knew we had an hour-and-20-minute drive. She made sure the pharmacy was lined up to bring our medicine, that PT and OT came in to evaluate that day, and called for his ECHO cardiogram to be done as soon as possible so that Dad’s doctor could read it quickly. Dad’s arms were in bad shape from being in another hospital two days prior to our trip to Rex. Kirsten was slow in removing the tape and IVs from Dad’s arms. She made sure to bandage them as he had been on a heparin drip, and his arms had bled through. She was so tender to his pain. My dad was crying because she was so kind and gentle, and she took a lot of time to take care of his arms. She has true compassion for her patients. She was so knowledgeable about what was going on with dad and explained it so well. She was a true gem!

Thank you, Kirsten, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
