S was transported via ambulance from another Seton facility. From the moment she arrived, Kirsten was upbeat, kind, caring and compassionate.
S, obviously, felt terrible as she was admitted the day before her 16th birthday. She physically felt awful and was mentally down to be back in the hospital. Kirsten was able to "connect" with S, identify and empathize with what she was going through and in doing so, eased her discomfort a bit.
Teens can be more difficult to connect with - a simple hug and a smile oftentimes aren't enough. Kirstin was somehow able to break through. She was truly a ray of light on a very gloomy day.
