I came into the hospital with abdominal pain and they told me I would be having emergency surgery. I made it through the surgery but was left with a long recovery and hospital stay. I was very scared and felt blindsided by this whole event. In the evening, I met nurse Kirstyn. She was bubbly and kind. She heard my fears and eased them greatly. Kirstyn was kind and loving. I am also a nurse and have been for 22 years. Kirstyn is a relatively new nurse. I had a mix up with my medications and Kirstyn resolved the difficult issue overnight. This was highly appreciated. She checked on me regularly. She answered my questions as they arose. Kirsten may be a relatively new nurse but she embodies what it means to be a good nurse. I was scared and she eased my fears. I was hurting and she eased my pain. I was feeling so alone and her bubbly attitude eased that greatly. I want to show my deep gratitude for her assistance to me over the three nights she cared for me. Kirstyn is a young lady who has been here for 8 months. She worked her way through high school and college. She has an older brother who works in insurance and she works midnights. She has a lot of energy and is very devoted and committed to strive hard. She should get the DAISY Award because she is kind and thoughtful. I can tell a lot by how she takes care of me. I am so happy that she was my nurse.
