A wife of a patient on Orthopedic Unit wanted to visit and was told she needed to have a negative COVID Test but the wife is mute and had a difficulty communicating and understanding. She went to ED thinking that they will do the test for her. When Kit, Emergency Department Charge Nurse was communicating with her, he noticed that she really did not understand the instructions when he tried to explain the situation. He proceeded to ask and get a rapid COVID test and tested the wife so she could visit her husband. He also took the time to speak with DPS to assist with the family.
