While working with a cardiac rehab patient over a 3 month period, this nurse was recognized by a patient as being a dynamic leader. The patient particularly commended this nurse for her “larger than life” personality, stating that it was the enthusiasm of the nurse that inspired him to persevere during the difficult times. The patient went on to quote Emerson by saying: “An institution is the lengthened shadow of a single man (or woman), Klancy has certainly cast her shadow over the Loudoun Cardiac Rehab unit and made it a lively dynamic group.”
