Our mom was hospitalized, and MGMC granted special permission for her to attend her husband’s inurnment. This was handled so nicely by MGMC and Kourtney. Kourtney accompanied my mother during the travels to the Veterans Cemetery and throughout the service. This was such an emotional time for us, and Kourtney exemplified respect, caring, compassion, and professionalism.

The last section of the Florence Nightingale nursing pledge references “devoting myself to the welfare of those committed to my care”. Courtney really went above and beyond with this one. We forgot to pack the footrests for Mom’s wheelchair, so with ingenuity and a bit of MacGyvering, Courtney ensured Mom was safe and comfortable during transport. My family wondered which specific nursing course taught that type of adaptation!

Mom passed about two weeks after this, and we are certain she would be pleased to know Kourtney has been recognized and chosen for the DAISY Award.
