Kris Messinger, RN

Kris has worked at WVMC for 39 years in various roles. Most of us cannot say we’ve given our lives to an organization for that long. Kris is one of the most thorough Infection Preventionists I have ever worked with. She is never shy about encouraging staff, nursing students, physicians, leadership, and all to do the right thing to protect our patients. Her attention to detail is incredible. She definitely should be crowned our Queen of CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, Cdiff, and surgical site infection prevention. Need I say more? She is amazing. Kris always puts the patients first, and that’s what really matters!!! I’m proud to work with you each day. Thanks for all you have done here at WVMC. Hope for many more years. Kris always goes above and beyond to help both our patients and me. When I was unable to obtain COVID vaccines for a patient clinic, Kris used her contacts to secure a small vaccine supply. Because of her quick action, we were able to continue to serve our patients. What started as an issue beyond my control was quickly remedied by my go-to angel, Kris!
