I was 20 weeks pregnant when I had a splash exposure during my shift in the emergency room. I will blame my emotions on my pregnancy, but I was very emotional and upset when I walked into employee health. Kris immediately gave me a huge hug and calmed my fears. She sat with me as I filled out all my paperwork. Her calming presence and reassurance helped me calm down. It was towards the end of the day and Kris assured me she would stay as long as it took to get the source patient results. She stayed late on a Friday and called me to let me know the results. Her kindness and compassion were and is so appreciated. She never made me feel silly or crazy for being upset, and her calming presence really eased my fears.
