Kris Ryan is such an essential part of our team on 8 Southwest. She navigates challenging patient situations with ease. She is willing to step out of her "role" to help our nursing staff out and does so often. She shows leadership qualities that are second to none and goes above and beyond for our patients, staff, and floor. She has brought in treats for long-term patients to brighten their days and does not hesitate to step in and help if the nursing staff needs assistance, even staying beyond her shift to sit with a dying patient so they're not alone.
If Kris has a day off, her absence is truly felt. Patient discharges always go smoother and quicker when she is here. We were so relieved to have her back on the floor after the initial COVID-19 measures had ended. COVID has made her job more challenging as well, but you'd never know it. The smile continues to stay on her face day in and day out. We love you!
