When Krish was going to be off work for a couple of days, he reassured her he would be back to check on her even if he did not have her as a patient.
I took my mother to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville because she needed to receive the best care after everything she had been through the past year with medical facilities and other medical professionals.

My mother had severe pain and vascular issues that needed immediate attention. We drove 5 hours to get her this care, and it was well worth it. I wish I could nominate the entire team of doctors and nurses, but there was one special nurse who made a huge impact on my mother's care and heart.

Krish Patel was the first nurse on the regular floor to receive my mother from the ER after spending almost 24 hours in the ER. Krish’s shift was almost over, and he still managed to greet us with a smile and kindness that already made us feel comfortable and cared for.

My mother was in pain and scared, but Krish reassured her that she would be taken care of not only by him but by the entire staff. Krish made sure we knew what was going to happen each day, and if we did not understand something a doctor told us, he would explain it with patience and kindness. He not only did his job with such compassion, but he also showed an interest in who my mother was as a person. He listened to her and shared his thoughts on certain things my mother would say.

When Krish was going to be off work for a couple of days, he reassured her he would be back to check on her even if he did not have her as a patient. He came back to work, and sure enough, she was the first person he checked on and gave him his work number to call if she needed anything. Krish checked on her every day. He was there even if she was not his patient; after her surgery, he checked on her and visited her in the ICU. Before her surgery, he also gave her a pep talk to reassure her she would be fine after the surgery.

Not only did he do his regular job well, but he also went above and beyond and expressed deep concern and compassion for my mother. My mother felt as if he were a grandson to her, and she even told him she loved him. His spirit and presence are unforgettable, and he is an Angel to us.
