Krissy was so incredibly helpful with a patient who was two days post-partum and presented to the ED with breast pain and engorgement. She was having difficulty with breastfeeding and pumping. She was in so much pain that she was almost hysterical. I called 4C, asking for any assistance from a nurse or lactation consultant. I met Krissy at the elevators and escorted her into the ED. She was pivotal in the care of this patient!
Krissy brought tons of supplies down with her to assist the patient—ice packs, a breast pump, olive oil, and resources from LaLeche League. She stayed with the patient and infant for over an hour, assisting and educating her with latching, feeding, and how to manage everything at home.
When the patient was ready to be discharged home, she had additional questions and concerns, so I called 4C back and spoke with Krissy and again Krissy was so helpful, informative and so willing to assist in any way possible. I was blown away by how awesome Krissy was, so kind and willing to help. I would like to recognize Krissy as an excellent role model and team player for her compassionate care and willingness to go above and beyond!
