She was my girl's biggest cheerleader and it was comforting to know that there was someone that my girls knew.
We had Krista since day two of our stay when she became my twins primary nurse. Starting that day I felt that my children were in fantastic hands when she was there. She made me feel acknowledged as the parent and always explained everything she was doing. She answered any questions I had, even if I thought that they were silly questions. On my worst days emotionally she was there, not only loving on my twins and providing amazing care to them, but she would take a minute to just talk with me. Sometimes she talked not about medical things, but just life in general. She made me feel a little more at ease during the 8 long weeks we were there. She was my girl's biggest cheerleader and it was comforting to know that there was someone that my girls knew. She knew them and me as well. She knew my schedule and that I wanted to be involved, so she would wait to do the bath or weighing. She knew I liked being a part of those things. Even the simple things as waiting to pick our their outfit for the day because she knew I found a little joy in picking them out. I wanted to nominate Krista because she was outstanding. Even on days she was super busy or having a rough day she would still go above and beyond to not only care for my twins, but to involve me as well. She works very hard and not once did I hear her complain about anything. Even if you could tell she was frustrated or having a rough time with something she always had a smile on her face and never verbally complained about anything. She also had several people she was training during our stay. By our observation, she was doing a great job teaching them the ropes and teaching them to care like she does by mentioning that she knows I liked to change diapers, clothes, bath and so on. She would teach them to know that and include the parents as much as possible. It was an amazing thing to watch and be a part of - that she took the time not to just teach them the job, but to teach them how to go above and beyond for the families and their babies during one of the most stressful times of their lives.
