"I'm eternally grateful for her kindness and compassion during the scariest week of my life."
I was admitted twice with Preeclampsia. Krista was one of my amazing Nurses both times, but she was especially supportive and helpful in every single way when the Doctor made the call to do an emergency c-section after 22 hours of extremely scary, non-productive labor at just over 36 weeks. Krista never left me in fear or discomfort and was always there within seconds if I needed anything at all. She was the calm in my scariest storm, reassuring when I started to freak out and made sure I was never in any unnecessary pain or discomfort.
After surgery, when I had no dignity left and had to be helped with the most basic tasks (getting in and out of bed, going to the bathroom, taking a shower, etc) Krista always made sure I was taken excellent care of and she had the most patient and compassionate bedside manner. When a patient is a control freak with major anxiety, it means the world to have a caregiver like Krista to keep them calm, reassured, informed, comfortable, and safe when their birth plan must go out the window. I wish her all the good things in her life and career and I'm eternally grateful for her kindness and compassion during the scariest week of my life.
