I was transferred to the ER by ambulance. I was experiencing chest, neck and left arm pain. After four days in ICU, I was brought to the med/tele floor. The next day they wanted to put me in a life vest to go home. If it wasn't for my awesome nurse Krista, my husband and I would not have made it through. Having never had heart issues we were scared and overwhelmed. Krista continually reassured me and my husband that everything would be okay. Even during part of the presentation Krista continually gave me reassuring looks and I knew she understood my fear and was acknowledging that I was scared. That might not seem like much, but if a nurse knows her patient without them having to say a word, I think that is wonderful. She was so caring and attentive, it made a world of difference.
