May 2023 Honoree
Krista Puttman, RN, BSN, IBCLC
Krista was such an angel to our little growing family during my stay at the Birth Place. She embodied so much compassion, I felt heard when I voiced concerns regarding my care and most importantly the care of my newborn child. She was patient and showed so much kindness towards me struggling to breastfeed the baby.
She took her time to comfort me, reassure me, and help build my confidence in breastfeeding and taking care of my newborn. During my periods of emotional distress, she took a moment to listen and offer so much guidance and comfort. I personally didn’t feel like she treated me like a number or just another patient but like a human going through one of life’s biggest events needing guidance. She was a beacon; a lighthouse in the dense new fog of parenthood. I felt blessed to be in her care.
