When we came to the ICU with our 23-year-old son who suffered a TBI and was on a ventilator with numerous medication drips, Kristen's calm, cool and confident demeanor was so comforting!! She immediately put us at ease. She explained everything to us. She was gentle and compassionate with our son. You can tell so much about a person by how they interact with you and it was obvious she genuinely loves what she does. She not only took amazing care of our son that day but also my husband and me. My words don't seem enough to convey the appreciation we have for Kristen.
Since I have returned to work, Kristen has asked about our son several times because she had "been thinking about him". She explained the medications and the why's for everything going on. Kristen was in the room more than she wasn't. She made eye contact smiled, did AIDET, got us water or a blanket whatever she could do to help us.
Kristen knew our son would be in ICU for several days and put our name on one of the two ICU family sleeping rooms to make sure we had a place to rest nearby. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
