The Emergency Department received a patient who was an intentional overdose with extremely erratic behavior. Kristen was able to bond with the patient and gain their trust, allowing the staff to do all the necessary interventions for them. Kristen was patient and kind, she took the time to hold the patient's hand and comfort her. We were busy in the department, so Kristen willingly stayed over for more than two hours after her shift until we were able to transfer the patient to the main campus for further treatment. It was greatly appreciated as there were several higher acuity patients in the department. This also allowed the allocation of other valuable resources in the department where they were needed the most.
