Kristen received two DAISY Award nominations that highlighted her compassionate, patient-centered care during some of her patients' and families' most difficult moments.
The first nomination came from the family of a patient undergoing a terminal decline. The family expressed deep appreciation for Kristen's comforting presence, compassion, and support throughout the end-of-life process. They noted that she patiently answered their questions, provided reassurance, and helped guide them through the emotionally challenging experience of their mother's passing with dignity and care.
The second nomination came from a patient's son. He shared that his father felt safe, secure, and well cared for when Kristen was his nurse. He observed that his father appeared noticeably happier under her care and credited Kristen with making a difficult hospitalization more manageable for both of them. Her kindness, attentiveness, and emotional support helped improve their overall experience during a challenging time.
