Kristen has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to educating and developing not only the MRI/PST/PACU nursing staff but has served as the covering educator for the OR staff over the last few months. 

Her ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely has been invaluable to the perioperative team. Kristen’s passion for education and quality patient care is evident, and it has made a significant impact on the unit's overall performance and patient outcomes.

Kristen worked diligently on the periop handoff tool, bringing the PACU and OR together for a safe, streamlined process for handoff. Kristen is always willing to learn and continues to develop herself, She embarked on an EBP project Emergence Delirium in the PACU. Data has shown the incorporation of this screening tool in the PACU has led to a decrease in the length of stay for our patients in the PACU. In addition, Kristen has presented this work in national forums.

Kristen is the first one to step forward and lend a helping hand to her team. She is well versed in many aspects of critical care pediatric nursing, which allows her to provide coverage to many of the department's educators. Kristen also leads other initiatives, such as the nurse extern program and organizing the annual skills fair requirements for the nursing staff. She is very effective in her organizational skills and displays excellent mentoring skills for colleagues and nursing students.

Kristen’s contributions have been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.
