Kristen is one of the most compassionate nurses I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She mainly works on our child and adolescent unit, and she loves and treats the kids as if they are her own. I honestly think she would adopt a lot of the kids if she were given the opportunity. She's always going above and beyond for the kids. If there's anything they need, she will go out and buy it for them. She'll often use her break time to go to the store for them or come in on her days off to bring them items they need (specialty hygiene items, clothes, etc). She loves bringing arts and crafts to the kids, and they really enjoy doing the projects. She gets very enthusiastic when doing the nursing groups with them & they always seem very interested in what she's educating them about. If Kristen has any downtime, you'll more than likely find her sitting out in the dayroom talking one-on-one with the patients. Kristen is an amazing, caring & compassionate nurse who deserves the DAISY Award!
